The Book on One-Season Wonder

Franchise history Β· as told by the league office

In 2024 a manager named chopkins01 materialized in the Goodfellas, went 9-5, beat nearly every established member of the league at least once, won two playoff games, took third place, and then vanished without explanation. One season. No history before it, no trace after it. The league's records list him the way a small town's newspaper lists a stranger who won the county fair and left before the ribbon ceremony.

His one season had real teeth, too. He knocked Kebz β€” the winningest manager in league history β€” out of the 2024 playoffs, a wound Kebz carries to this day, having lost a postseason game to a man who no longer exists. His semifinal against kkissel2121 became the highest-scoring game ever played in this league, a 330.82-point shootout in which chopkins scored 162.80 β€” enough to beat any other manager on any other week β€” and lost by five. He responded by winning the third-place game by 24 and logging off forever.

The scheduling gods, it should be said, adored him: his 9-5 came in at nearly four wins above what his scoring earned, one of the luckiest seasons ever recorded β€” the fantasy equivalent of a tourist hitting a slot machine jackpot on the way to the airport. Was he a savant? A fluke? A ghost sent to humble Kebz specifically? The league will never know. He came, he won, he left, and his 64.3% career winning percentage β€” better than anyone in league history not named Kebz β€” sits in the record book like a locked room mystery.
